Dolphin Report -December, 2006
December has been a good month for spotting Dolphins, as the water visibility has been exceptional. The number of seals and penguins spotted in the area has decreased rapidly in the past month. This could be due to the increase of fishing boats.
There were large pods of up to 40 dolphins around earlier in the month, Which was allowing great interaction with the swimmers, although this decreased just after Christmas, as many of the Kayaks and canoes started chasing the resting pods.
I believe early January will be much the same with dolphins moving away from inshore waters and the interaction time decreasing.
Many of the local pods are moving back to the Glenelg area after being away for some months. This could be due to getting ready to give birth or perhaps the local pods are tying to stay clear of the larger pods that move into the area from September through to December.
Dolphin Report - November, 2006

November was another great month, lots of dolphins but not a lot of our local pods. There has been a large pod of bottlenose dolphins around at the moment, consisting of up to 45 dolphins. We have never seen these fins before, but the pod does come to the swimmers for short interactions. This is probably due to the fact that they are confident in numbers.
We are also seeing more penguins than ever before, with up to 40 spotted on a calm day.
We are pleased to see a few pods of common dolphins in the deeper water throughout November.
Unfortunately seal numbers have dropped considerably with only one or two spotted per trip.
During late November we have seen the local dolphins starting to move into the area again.

Dolphin Report - October 2006
October, 06 cruises would have to be the best month we have ever had - calm waters, great visibility, heaps of dolphins in larger pods and many swims lasting for more than an hour.
Plenty of seals still around and we are seeing large numbers of penguins and sea birds. On 31st October we saw our first pod of Common dolphins for this season.
All this and the squid haven't moved in close in great numbers as yet. November is looking to be a great month.

Dolphin Report - September, 2006
Another great month with good visibility (except for the very end of the month when we had two fronts come through).
This report is similar to the August report for dolphins and seals. The squid are moving into their breeding grounds now so the next couple of months should give us large numbers of dolphins.
Dolphin Report - August, 2006

A great month for swimmers – the water was clear and there were loads of local dolphins around.
The water temperature is around 13° and the swim times have averaged over 1 hour (very cold but very happy customers after that amount of time in the water).
There is a lot of seals around this season, more than anytime before – with one trip recording 17 seals spotted during the morning.
