Dolphin Report - December 2009Dolphin in December 09

December had good visibility with local dolphins hanging around the Brighton area. There were also a lot of Bottlenose dolphins around Hallett Cove with Common dolphins seen on most trips.

Dolphin interaction has been good, but this will probably change in January with Kayaks and boats chasing the dolphins.

Sea-lions and Penguin numbers have decreased in December.

Dolphin Report - November 2009

People watching Dolphins in Nov 09

ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC!!! Loads of bottlenose dolphins and a small pod of about 20 common dolphins were hanging out from Hallet Cove all November.

The water clarity has been the best we have ever seen it, with up to 30 metres visibility. There have been bait fish everywhere with lots of seabirds and penguins have been off of Glenelg.

Most swims in November were ended by the swimmers, simply because they were in the water for too long. Local pods were seen on most trips in November, giving swimmers memories that they will never forget!

Dolphin Report - October, 2009Dolphins Oct 09

There were loads of dolphins south of Glenelg with excellent visibility for most of October.

Interaction was very good with many swims being terminated by Temptation and not the dolphins. This was due to the swims going for too long and there was much more to see.

One pod that interacted with Temptation was over 27 dolphins and they stayed around for so long we had to end the swim again and head home with all the dolphins bow riding most of the way back to Glenelg.

AWESOME!!!

Dolphin Report - September, 2009September 09

September saw a lot of dolphins close to shore, with one day seeing a total of 67 dolphins. Overall there was excellent interaction, but the water clarity for all of September was poor due to constant westerly winds and heavy rain falls.

Late September the water started to clear and the professional squid fisherman started fishing the local squid grounds. Hopefully this should mean we will see even more dolphins throughout October. A small pod of common dolphins played with Temptation early September but were only around for 6 days.
Having whales close to shore mid September was a great highlight.

Dolphin Report - June, 2009Dolphin June 09

This was the first that Temptation has been out in June and it turned out to be a good month, with good interaction mainly from this season’s new borns. We did head out to deeper water, which has better visibility and larger pods of dolphins. Temptation will be taken out of the water over July and August for a clean and to get ready for the first cruise back on the 1st of September 09.
